Definition: Along with Jing and Qi, Shen belongs to the "Three Treasures" - internal substances cultivated through the practice of Inner Alchemy. Shen refers to spiritual energy - the radiance seen in a person's eyes. The "Five Shen" are the spirits of the major yin organs of the body.
