It's one of those sad ironies of "life in the Kali Yuga" that the symbol utilized by western medicine -- the Rod of Asclepius -- has been divorced entirely from its yogic referent: the Sushumna Nadi, or central channel of the subtle body -- known in Taoist lingo as the Chong Mai -- around which the "snake" of life-force energy spirals, until finally dissolving into it.
Oh well. (Have a good day, anyway ... :)
