Kitchen Alchemy
I was in the mood for some pancakes for my breakfast this morning, and remembered that I had some frozen raspberries and blueberries that I could use. So I put the frozen fruit in a bowl, then had the idea that I would melt several tablespoons of butter (which I like to include in the batter) and pour the butter over the frozen fruit, to soften it a bit before adding the other ingredients. But the ratios weren't quite right, and - instead of the frozen fruit becoming soft - the melted butter, when it came into contact with the fruit, simply resolidified, glomming around the blueberries and raspberries in pretty much the same form as before it had been melted.
This feels like some kind of important lesson, though I'm not quite sure yet what it is.
At any rate, the story has a happy ending: in spite of their rather inauspicious beginning, the pancakes turned out to be delicious - topped with a yogurt, maple syrup, cinnamon and anise-seed blend. Yum!
And: "Inner Alchemy & Transubstantiation" is now complete, ready for your enjoyment ...
